One thing that I always felt was effective was showing guys the height and weight of players at their position in the NFL.
This helped give many players the extra motivation needed to gain weight when they were able to compare themselves to the next level guys.
Sometimes that was even harsh reality for, say, tight ends who thought 210 pounds was “about average” to play in the NFL.
I took active rosters of 53 players for the 2022 season (just before the last week of the season – January 2023), almost 1700 players in total and broke them down by position.
For this guide, I took an average of the heights and weights of 290 active offensive linemen (tackles, guards, and centers) across the league.
Plus, just for fun, I’ve also listed the tallest, shortest, heaviest, and lightest offensive linemen.
Average Height of an NFL Offensive Lineman
The average height of an NFL offensive lineman is 76.88 inches (almost 6’5″).
Average Weight of an NFL Offensive Lineman
The average weight of an NFL offensive lineman is 314.82 lbs.
Who are the greatest offensive linemen in the NFL?
There are 16 guys who are listed at 6’8″ (all tackled by the way), but only two are listed over 6’8″.
Caleb Jones – 6’9″ – Packers

Only 3 out of 290 guys are listed under 6’2″.
Aaron Brewer – 6’1″ – Titans
Daniel Munyer – 6’1″ – Titans

There are 5 guys listed at over 350 pounds – 4 tackles and 1 guard.
Daniel Faalele – 380 lbs – Ravens
Caleb Jones – 370 lbs – Packers
Trent Brown – 370 lbs – Patriots
Ben Cleveland – 370 lbs – Ravens
Jordan Mailata – 365 lbs – Eagles

There are a total of 14 guys who weigh under 300.
Aaron Brewer – 274 pounds – Titans

Ryan Neuzil – 290 lbs – Falcons
Final Thoughts
The Ravens really seem to like big offensive linemen.
4 of the NFL’s 12 greatest offensive linemen currently call Baltimore home.
Daniel Faalele – 6’8″ 380 lbs
Ben Cleveland – 6’6″ 370 pounds
Kevin Zeitler – 6’4″ 339 pounds
Ben Powers – 6’4″ 338 lbs
The Big 10, which has a bit of a reputation for producing great offensive linemen, seems to live up to the hype.
5 of the 11 heaviest linemen currently in the NFL come from this conference.
