Who holds the biceps curl world record?
Who holds the biceps curl world record?
The heaviest strict curl ever recorded is a lift of 114 kg (251 lb) by LeRoy Walker on August 28, 2021.
This biceps curl world record is a 1kg improvement over the previous record set in 2015 by wrestler Denis Cyplenkov, who has some of the biggest biceps in the world.
However, there has been some controversy as to whether Waker’s attempt was actually a strict curl.
Whether you agree with LeRoy Walker’s world arm curl record or not, there is no denying that he has an incredible amount of biceps power and he certainly deserves credit and praise for his outstanding 114kg, well above average weight.

What is the heaviest curl ever recorded?
The heaviest curl on record—a whopping 440 pounds—was reportedly performed in 1985 by three-time World’s Strongest Man winner Bill Kazmaier.
Although there is no footage of this lift – and although it was probably completed with less than optimal form – there is no reason to doubt Kazmaier’s authenticity given his other incredible lifts.
Since this category is trying to find the hardest biceps curl ever recorded, it doesn’t need to be strict.
There is footage of Magnus Samuelsson curling 140kg (308lbs) for reps with pretty good form, which is definitely an example of “best performance with the heaviest bar”.
His heavy barbell reps, which he did with slow negatives, didn’t seem to challenge him as much, nor did he lean back as much as the other lifters.

The 200-pound barbell world record belongs to YouTuber Kali Muscle.
Even if he didn’t use a strict form for his curls, most people couldn’t physically hold 200 pounds in their hands, never mind curl that much weight!
Plus, you can tell in the footage of Kali Muscle curling with 150 lb dumbbells that his form is much better.
While he’s technically hammering his body and using momentum, he’s still getting a decent amount of bicep activation.
However, it is doubtful that these people could move 150 lb dumbbells like Kali.
The fact that Kali curled each barbell separately (one arm at a time) allowed him to channel all of his energy into lifting each individual weight with maximum force.
This is a smart tactic to use when trying to set a new barbell curling record like he did.

The man who runs the YouTube channel Doc. Weber holds the world record for one-arm biceps.
Although there are other people who have lifted more weights in one hand, those lifts were nowhere near as rigorous as Doc’s. Weber’s 61 kg (134.5 lb) one-arm biceps.
Using an adjustable bench for support, Doc. Weber lowered the monstrous barbell (that most people couldn’t bench press) most of the way down before using his incredible bicep strength to curl it back up.
As impressive as his 61kg curl is, it was definitely made easier by the fact that his arm rested on an incline bench, which completely changed the power curve of the exercise.

What is the world record preacher curl?
The world record for the preacher curl is 182 pounds (82.5 kg).
The lift was performed by Swedish weightlifter Thommy Ohlund, who runs the ThommyGodlover YouTube channel.
There is footage of C.T. Fletcher and his friend do preacher curls on the 205-pound EZ bar.
As impressive as this performance was, their range of motion was far less than Thommy’s and therefore should not be considered a strictly preacher record.
Sure, he leaned a little forward and then back, which may have created some momentum, but he used a much greater range of motion than other people trying to break the preacher’s record.
