The Shocking Reason behind Josh Harris’ Firing from ‘Dead

‘Deadliest Catch’ is a reality television series that entertained audiences and gave them a thrilling look at the dangerous fishing scene in the Bering Sea.

Like any other reality show, the long-running series is not without controversies involving the cast.

However, some of these controversies affected some of the cast members’ time on the show.

One such example is F/V Northwestern’s Edgar Hansen, who hasn’t appeared in the series since 2018.

Here’s what we know about why Edgar Hansen isn’t on the show and where he is now.

What happened to Edgar Hansen during the deadliest catch?

The Northwestern is the only fishing boat to appear in every season of the show so far.

The ship’s captain is Sig Hansen, a legendary figure in the Bering Sea fishing community.

Perhaps the most important member of the boat’s crew is Sig Hansen’s brother, Edgar Hansen.

Edgar appeared alongside his brother for almost the entire duration of the show’s run.

When Sig suffered a heart attack on the F/V Northwestern in 2016 while filming the show, Deck Chief Edgar was instrumental in keeping the crew’s spirits up and making sure all tasks were completed correctly.

However, Edgar has been conspicuously absent from the show since season 15.

In 2018, a teenage girl accused Edgar of sexually assaulting her.

In the court proceedings that followed, the 50-year-old fisherman pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Where is Edgar Hansen now?

After pleading guilty to the charges, Edgar reached a plea deal and a 364-day suspended jail sentence.

The court also ordered him to undergo a sexual deviance evaluation and treatment and submit a DNA sample to authorities.

The document also revealed that Hansen apologized in court.

The handwritten statement read: “I am very sorry for this behavior and have begun treatment to ensure that nothing like this attack ever happens again.” After putting the court case behind him, the Mountlake Terrace resident is back on board at Northwestern.

The court case appears to have affected his status as an actor on the show, but not as a member of the boat’s crew.

Some fans have occasionally spotted him in the background in a few episodes (most notably in the season 17 premiere), but he is mostly left out of the frame.

Edgar likes to keep his personal life out of the spotlight, and the crabber continued that trend after the trial.

For now, Edgar will likely continue to work on the F/V Northwestern behind the scenes.

– April 26, 2023 A few days ago, Discovery announced the premiere of the 19th season of Deadliest Catch.

They revealed that there are a lot of new faces this season, as well as some old ones.

For example, Captain Andy Hillstrand is back with his brothers Neal and Captain Johnathan fishing on the F/V Time Bandit.

Captain Sig Hansen and his daughter Captain Mandy Hansen are back together on the F/V Northwestern.

For those who haven’t heard the shocking news, Captain Josh Harris has been fired from Discovery.

Along with Captain Casey McManus, he starred in two series including OG and Bloodline.

But what’s more shocking than Josh’s firing is the reason he’s not on the show.

What’s the shocking reason Josh Harris was fired from Deadliest Catch?

Why was Josh Harris fired from Deadliest Catch?

Deadliest Catch fans gearing up for the Season 19 premiere on April 18 may be surprised to learn that the F/V Cornelia Marie is not returning.

This means that Josh Harris, the eldest son of Captain Phil, did not return.

Why didn’t Josh return to Discovery’s series?

Turns out Josh Harris was hiding a secret.

Furthermore, no one seemed to know about it until it was posted on social media in August 2022.

In August, a now-deleted Reddit post revealed that in 1998, Josh Harris was arrested and convicted of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl.

Harris would have been between 15 and 16 years old at the time of this incident.

According to Cinema Blend, which was first reported by Factz, Harris “digitally, vaginally and orally raped a 4-year-old girl on 7/14/1998.” DNA evidence, including blood and semen, was found at the scene.

That’s why Josh Harris was officially arrested in 1999.

In a written statement, the very young girl told investigators that Josh forced her to call their genitals “pee-pee.” It was not immediately clear whether Harris was required to register as a sex offender.

Many fans of the series know that Harris is now the father of a young girl, which may bother many.

The former Deadliest Catch star has been silent on social media

With one exception, Josh Harris has been silent on social media since the news broke widely in September 2022.

On February 11, he posted a photo of his father, the amiable Captain Phil Harris, on Instagram.

He wrote: “I miss you my friend, I can’t believe it’s been so many years it seems like yesterday.

The F/V Cornelia Marie will not be part of Deadliest Catch season 19.
