To date, 24 new 2022 giant pumpkin records have been identified from around the world. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow these huge pumpkins.
The majority of these pumpkin growers failed during the growing process.
Some key factors in growing a large pumpkin are seeding, watering, burying the vine node, and removing other pumpkins from the plant.

2517.7 pounds by Ruben Mendi (1142 kg) Rubén Mendi of Valtierrano was proclaimed the 2021 winner of the Giant Pumpkin Contest held in his hometown.
Mendi presented a sample with a total weight of 1,142 kilos, which remained very close to the Spanish record he himself holds with the pumpkin with which he won the last edition (1,157.50 kilos).
The world record is still held by the Belgian farmer Mathias Willemijns with a sample of 1,191 kg. 2551.9 pounds by Ruben Mendi (1157.5 kg) On 12 September 2020, the XII edition of the international giant pumpkin fair was held at the Oasis de Bardenas hotel in Valtierra.
Once again the Valtierrano Rubén Mendi won, who in addition to obtaining the Spanish record, managed to place his pumpkin as the second heaviest in the world. At the weigh-off, Mendi revalidated it -his triumphs of 2017, 2018, and 2019.
He won with a pumpkin that weighed 1157.50 kg (2551.9 lbs) on the scale.
The second heaviest pumpkin was that of the British Paton brothers, from the English town of Lymington, which weighed 934.5 kg.
Due to the pandemic, the Paton brothers did not attend the contest in person. He enjoys the hobby of growing large pumpkins and impressed Spain by winning a contest with a giant specimen weighing 1157.9 kilos. Parents of this pumpkin, Mother 2183.7 Mendi, Father auto6.
2554 pounds by Scott Andrusz (1158.5 kg) In 2022, the Andrusz family in Lancaster is impressed with the 2254 lb. pumpkin.
Retired commercial farmer Scott Andrusz spent sleepless nights looking for a giant pumpkin in his field and finally came up with a new US record that only lasted a week – a plump pumpkin weighing 2,554 pounds.
It’s not the first time they’ve tried to go after a record, and it’s not an easy task to achieve.

2560 pounds by Travis Gienger – (1161 kg) American Pumpkin Record of 2560 Lbs. Travis Gienger in 2022 from Anoka, Minnesota beat his old state pumpkin record of 2350 pounds with a mammoth 2560 pound pumpkin.
It is currently the heaviest pumpkin grown in the United States.
Travis drove this pumpkin all the way from Minnesota to enter and win the $9 per pound prize from the 49th Half Moon Bay Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off.

2593.7 pounds by Ian & Stuart Paton – 185 Stone (1176.5 kg) Well, the Paton brothers have done it again.
This is a new UK pumpkin record. A pair of twins have grown the UK’s largest pumpkin and weighed a whopping 2,593.7lb- heavier than two polar bears. Ian and Stuart Paton, 59, from Lymington in Hampshire’s New Forest National Park, beat him. the previous UK best at 2,433 lb and narrowly missing the world record by just 31 lb. 2624.6 pounds by Mathias Willemijns (1190.5 kg) The third largest pumpkin to date goes to Mathias Willemijns from Deurle, Belgium.

2656.1 pounds by Ian & Stuart Paton (1204.8 kg)Ian & Stuart are from Lymington, UK.
This is the largest 2022 pumpkin ever grown in the UK. This massive pumpkin makes one gigantic jack-o’-lantern.
The giant pumpkin weighed 2656.1 pounds and was grown by Ian and Stuart Paton, twin brothers from England. The worst thing about growing a large pumpkin is transporting it for weighing.
Unfortunately, this pumpkin fell off the trailer during transport to the South Hampton Pumpkin Festival.

2702.8 pounds by Stefano Cutrupi (1226 kg) World Record Pumpkin The biggest pumpkin to date and the World Record goes to Stefano Cutrupi from Italy, a native of Bordighera but who has been living for many years in Radda in Chianti.
The pumpkin was weighed at the Big Pumpkin Festival in Peccioli, Italy 2021. This pumpkin will be taken to the European championship held in Stuttgart, Germany for display and to participate in the weigh-off of the local league. This pumpkin measured from the top (OTT ) 1300 cm or 511 inches, but if you look at the photo it really does not represent how huge the pumpkin is.
The Peccioli competition was very attractive offering prizes for giant pumpkins.
The prizes ranged from the eighth place to the first with prizes from 50 euros to 3 thousand for the first place with a world record.
Nice price for Stefano Cutrupi paying 2 euros per kg for the new Italian record. The parents of this pumpkin Mother 1885.5 Werner, Father Self2021 Pumpkin world record weight of 1226 KGDQ – 2907.85 Lira by Ian & Stuart Paton – Damaged Red Pumpkin Large Disqualification , but you cannot receive an official World record if the pumpkin is damaged.
This is not the end for Ian and Stuart and I am sure they will get the World Record in time.
